At the core of our faith is the belief in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. We also recognize that racism is an institutionalized pattern reaching far beyond any single incident or person.  

Black Lives Matter (or #BlackLivesMatter) is a movement and a stance in response to this reality: the United States was built on a legacy of slavery, racism, and oppression that continues to take new, ever-changing forms. To say that “black lives matter” doesn’t mean that black lives are more important than other lives, or that all lives don’t matter. The systemic devaluing of Black lives calls us to bear witness, even as we acknowledge that oppression takes many intersecting forms. First Wednesday of Every Month  

Black Lives Matter Vigil – Public Witness at Rosa Parks Statue at the corner of Monroe Ave and Monroe Center. We meet during the lunch hour starting 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm. All are welcome to join us. Our goal is to support the Black Lives Matter Movement, build partnerships in the community with others who are seeking racial justice and equality. Colleen will bring the signs and scarves. This will take place monthly on the first Wednesday of the month, all year. 

We have been joined by Fountain Street Church, Plymouth United Church of Christ and Westminster Presbyterian Church. All Souls has handed out over 50 yard signs, 200 wristbands and 150 buttons. You are welcome to join us.
